To secure the long-term future of the Cowes International Cup, we have entered into a 5-year contract with Sunsail for the charter of its matched fleet of Sunfast 37 yachts, along with all necessary race organisation and technical advice. Sunsail is part of the First Choice Holidays PLC Group and is the world’s largest yacht charter company.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease, which affects vital organs in the body, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus. It is the UK’s most common life-threatening disease and affects 7,500 babies, children and young adults in the UK. There is no known cure for CF at present. |

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK’s only national charity working to fund research into a cure and to ensure appropriate clinical care and support for people with CF. We have appointed Clare Macnaughton PR to handle event publicity. As PR Manager for Mike Golding Yacht Racing during Mike’s epic voyage in the 2004-05 Vendée Globe, Clare’s knowledge of yachting and the press is unrivalled. One of her first clients was Alex Thomson - the youngest Skipper ever to win a round-the-world yacht race. As the Cowes International Cup is a corporate event, Clare’s brief is to create publicity for the event, its sponsors and entrants largely through business-orientated publications and the yachting press as well as giving expert support to the sponsor’s and entrants’ own PR teams.

They are also suppliers of Sunseeker’s official clothing.

Cowes Yacht Haven
We have arrangements in place with Cowes Yacht Haven for the use of the marina and its new conference centre – the largest and most modern purpose-built facility on the Isle of Wight – where, at a Gala Dinner, guests will be entertained by ex-England Rugby Union star, Gareth Chilcott.

Rum Jungle
One of the most renowned charter vessels in UK, with space for 40 guests, Rum Jungle was used in February 2005 to take the International Olympic Committee down the Thames to dinner at Buckingham Palace during its evaluation of London’s bid for the 2012 Games! She is available for charter during the Cowes International Cup.
