The winning crew will become holders of the ‘Cowes International Cup’, an elegant trophy reflecting the heritage of history’s greatest naval hero, Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson – and receive a permanent memento, along with an award for each crewmember.
Plus, the winning crew, along with 11 additional guests of the entrant’s choice will return to the Solent in 2007 to experience the sheer power and excitement of sailing an International America’s Cup Class yacht.
An International America’s Cup Class yacht combines elegance and speed. These boats are like powerful swans on the water; they are the fastest boats in the Solent today and taking the helm is sailing’s equivalent of driving a Formula One racing car!
Runners Up
Trophies and crew mementos will also be given to entrants finishing second and third overall.
Leading Lady Award
Special awards will be made to the leading lady Skipper and the six leading female crewmembers in the overall standings, including yachtswomen competing as part of mixed crews.
The Cowes International Cup Plate
A trophy will be awarded to the winners of the ‘Plate’ competition on the second day, determined by qualifying crews’ overall standings in the two inshore races.
